Meet the Curators
Tia Čiček (Slovenia)
Tia Čiček holds an MA in Art History. For the past few years, she has worked as an independent curator, researcher, and writer in the field of contemporary visual arts. She is the artistic director of the Škuc Gallery and co-leads the World of Art School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing at SCCA-Ljubljana. In May and June 2024, she was an MQ Resident and stipend recipient of Tranzit.org, supported by the ERSTE Foundation. Čiček is also part of the curatorial conversation platform bad curating inc. Her main interests lie in collaborative practices inspired by feminist and queer caring frameworks, challenging conventional exhibition-making and contemporary art production. (Photo: Sara Rman)
Misal Adnan Yıldız (International)
Misal Adnan Yıldız is a curator, writer, and researcher. He has led Artspace Aotearoa in Auckland (2014-2017) and Künstlerhaus Stuttgart in Germany (2011-2014). Recently, he partnered with Çağla Ilk as the director of Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden (2020-2024). Yıldız has co-curated major events like the “Nightcomers” mobile video program at the 10th Istanbul Biennial and the main exhibition of the 6th Ural Industrial Biennial in Yekaterinburg. He has curated numerous exhibitions globally, showcasing artists such as Hito Steyerl, Ulrike Ottinger, and Sarkis. His work has been featured at esteemed institutions like Montehermoso, HISK, and Palais de Tokyo. He was a finalist for the 2012 ICI Vision Award and co-won the 2013 Curate Award. (Photo: Berk Kır)
