ART FEEDS COLLECTIVE RESIDENCIES 2026
Edible Commons: Performing the Future of Food

BJCEM, in collaboration with the partners of Feed Your Future, is proud to announce the launch of Art Feeds Collective Residencies 2026 — a transnational residency programme under the curatorial theme “Edible Commons: Performing the Future of Food”. Through this call, we invite artists and collectives across the European Union and Creative Europe countries to engage in an extraordinary exploration of food, ecology, community, and creative action.

Art Feeds offers a unique opportunity: selected participants will be immersed in collective residencies where art, climate action and sustainable food systems converge. Over two residency slots in 2026, groups of three artists will be hosted for 15 days each, working with local curators and grounded in specific social, cultural and ecological contexts.

Five residencies will take place in different European cities, each offering a unique socio-cultural and ecological context:
1. Milan (Italy) – Organized by Municipality of Milan – May 2026 (14th – 28th)
2. Almere (The Netherlands) – Organized by Municipality of Almere – May 2026 (14th – 28th)
3. Brașov (Romania) – Organized by Brașov Metropolitan Agency for Sustainable Development – May 2026 (14th – 28th)
4. Thessaloniki (Greece) – Organized by ActionAid Hellas – May 2026 (14th – 28th)
5. Paphos (Cyprus) – Organized by Xarkis – February 2026 (14th – 28th)

The outcomes of the residencies will be shared through public presentations, events, and a final masterclass to be held during the concluding event of Feed Your Future, scheduled in Milan at the end of 2026.

To apply, please refer to the relevant application forms for each residency slot (Paphos — February 2026; Almere, Brașov, Milan, Thessaloniki — May 2026)

Why this matters

At a time when climate change, food insecurity, and social inequality intersect more than ever, Art Feeds invites artists to reshape our relationship with nourishment: not merely as consumption, but as community, care, ritual, ecology, solidarity.

Through collaborative creation, sensory practices, site-specific interventions and collective imaginaries, Art Feeds aims to generate new narratives — offering imaginative and concrete responses to the climate and ecological crisis. By inviting diverse artistic voices across Europe, the residencies aspire to build connections between communities, policies, cultures, and ecologies — nurturing a future where food, art and justice converge.

Deadline for applications: 31 December 2025 — 22:30 CET.
