Launch of DE.a.RE Advocacy Campaign and “Arts (on) Shifting Terrain” event now available on BJCEM Website

The video of the launch of the DE.a.RE Advocacy Campaign and photos from the Arts (on) Shifting Terrain event which was held on 6th and 7th November at Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts – Ecole supérieure des Arts de la Ville de Bruxelles are now available on the BJCEM website. This two-day event marked the closing of the DE.a.RE – DEconstruct and REbuild project, a three-year-long initiative focused on sustainable and equitable practices for artists and workers in the cultural sector.

The first day of the event featured workshops, assemblies, and discussions led by a diverse group of artists, designers, poets, and curators. The aim was to explore the intersectional challenges of cultural workers’ rights and well-being, with a focus on tackling the precarity faced by creatives.

The second day highlighted the launch of the DE.a.RE Advocacy Campaign, a crucial step toward addressing the working conditions of artists across the EuroMed region. Designed by Latte Creativa and spearheaded by BJCEM, the campaign aims to influence policy reforms, promoting fair remuneration and sustainable funding in the cultural sector.

The event was hosted by the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts – Ecole supérieure des Arts de la Ville de Bruxelles and co-funded by the European Union. The video and photos of the event are available HERE
