What is the Bjcem

The BJCEM, Biennale des jeunes créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée, is an international network founded in Sarajevo, July 2001, during the X edition of the homonymous event.

Since then, the event was organized by an International Committee composed by independent partners, but in Sarajevo, in order to reinforce their joint work, the Committee decided to give birth to an international Association, with a registered office in Brussels and an executive one in Turin.

Nowadays, the Network is composed by 58 members from 17 Countries gathering Cultural Institutions as well as Independent Organizations. Bjcem has established collaborations with partners all over Europe, Middle East, Africa and more widely with organizations and projects focused on the Mediterranean Diaspora.

The aim of the Association is to create opportunities for the young artists to produce and showcase their works and to support their mobility and learning process.

BJCEM is an independent organization, open to anyone who shares our aim and interests without cultural, religious, political, social or moral distinction.

We are member of the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Culture Action Europe network.
