Goodbye Rafik

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Prof. Mohamed Rafik Khalil is no longer with us.

Prof. Khalil has been an important piece of history of BJCEM Association, as President of l’Atelier d’Alexandrie, Egypt, BJCEM member since 2005, and as BJCEM Board member.

Among many other acknowledgements, he has been Deputy Chairman at the Archaeological Society in Alexandria, Founder of the Ethical Committee of the School of Medicine of Alexandria University, a Poet and Founder of poetry workshops at l’Atelier d’Alexandrie, a renowned Professor of Surgery at Alexandria University, a pioneer in surgery, oncology and tissues engineering research.

During these years, he has been a point of reference in the relations between Egypt and BJCEM, and, thanks to his efforts, many Egyptian young artists have been able to attend the last editions of the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean and to be involved in many other projects promoted by the Network.

A reliable partner, a true friend.

On behalf of BJCEM Network, we would like to express our most sincere condolences to his family, and to all his friends around the world.

Ciao Rafik, we would like to remember you with this group picture, among some of your BJCEM friends and colleagues.

We will miss you very much.
