BJCEM President at “Life on Mars”, the annual networking event by Liv.in.g.

Ms Mercedes Giovinazzo Marín, Director of Interarts Foundation and President of BJCEM, is one of the speakers of Life on Mars, the annual networking event by Liv.in.g. (https://www.livingnet.eu/), which brings together intellectuals, institutions, artists, organizations to share practices and methodologies influencing the creative cultural sector and the performing arts in Italy and internationally.

Characterized by participatory methods and tools, Life on Mars invites national and international experts and operators to contribute in an open dialogue. The event intends to foster the creation of networks and alliances in order to build a new international community together.

Life on Mars 2019 “Toward a metamorphosis” reflects on the paradigm shifts in cultural policies and productions. Commons, active participation, participatory governance, cultural democracy are part of the vocabulary of most of the cultural operators.

While on one hand some of the latter have interpreted new emerging tools as a form of cultural resistance, on the other hand others have developed consensus strategies to legitimize their social and political function.
