European Voluntary Service is a part of Youth in Action program (Action 2). It's a full-time and unpaid voluntary activity in a foreign country within or outside the E.U.
This program promote young people's active citizenship, and develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance. It's open to everybody from 18 to 30 years old who desire develop new skills, improve personal, educational and professional development. E.V.S. is free of charge for volunteer, this one get board and lodging, insurance cover and an allowance for the duration of the project (from 1 to 12 months). This program concerns almost all countries of the world, but there are some rules and conventions as to who can go there.
E.V.S. activities can be carried out both individually or in group, in all sorts of areas: culture, youth, sports, social care, culture heritage, arts, civil protection, environment, etc.
The European Voluntary Service is a mutually beneficial process, where everybody gains from getting to know the other's culture.
