Elena Christodoulidou studied History followed by History of Art and Archaeology at the University Charles de Gaulle Lille III in France, where she first obtained a masters degree graduate in History and then another one in History of Art and Archaeology (2nd Master).
In 1994 she published the historical study «Iakovos Diassorinos: An Early Visionary of the Greek National Revolution».
From 1996 to 1999 she presented a specialized programme about cinema on the Cyprus State Television (RIK). During this time she published cinema reviews and criticisms in the press mainly in daily «Simerini» newspaper and elsewhere.
Since 1994 she has been working at the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture being responsible for the Cinema Affairs sector. In the Ministry of Education and Culture she is currently an Educational Officer, Grade A'. She is the chairperson of the Advisory Comittee of Cinema (the body responsible for consulting the government on film financing), the official representative of Cyprus at the SEE (Southeastern Cinema Network) and at the EFAD (European Federation of Audiovisual Directories). She is specialised on Cinema and European Union Affairs and film co-productions.
She has participated and organized various programmes and various workshops on scriptwriting and film production. In 1998 she attended the «Studio National des Arts Contemporains de France», where she studied cinema production in a specialized programme on short film production and modern artistic work. With a scholarship of the French government, in 2005, she participated in the programme «Espace Cultures» (a programme devoted to the French cine-industry), along with other professionals from the new member States of the European Union.
She was invited to be a member of different juries on behalf of different International Film Festivals, like the International Short Film and Documentary Film Festival of Belgrade, the International Children and Youth Festival of Kristiansand in Norway and others.
Inter alia, for seven years she was the chairperson of the Comittee of Works of Art Acquisition, at the Ministry of Education and Culture aiming at the enrichment of the State Works of Art Collection, she is the delegate of Cyprus in the Assosiation of the Biennale of Young Artists of European and Mediterranean Countries.
She is also a member of the European Film Academy.
She is currently working on her doctoral thesis.
