The Kosovar Youth Council (KYC) is a National Agency for Youth Development and Lobbying. We act to build a civil society through youth participation, by creating and supporting youth NGOs and coordinating their leadership. We represent youth voices; promote self-organized education, development and entertainment for youth; and actively involve youth in the creation and development of meaningful youth policies. Our vision is to "make a better place for a better life." The KYC has a multi-ethnic membership, mainly adolescents, with some members in their twenties. Members of the Kosovar Youth Council are working in several cities in Kosovo, including Prishtina, Pejë and Gjakova, with a main office in Prishtina.
Our organization underwent an in-depth organizational development process in 1999, and it is governed by a set of by-laws. We elect a President, a Secretary-General, Executive Directors in each town in which we work, a Financial Officer, Project Managers and a Secretary. We currently have more than 60 of very active members.
