LA VIA DEI CANTI DEL MEDITERRANEO
Una residenza di narrazione sulla “voce” degli Ulivi di Puglia
Esiste una “via dei canti” dove finisce la terra e inizia il viaggio, una linea di ulivi che fa scivolare l’ultimo lembo di Puglia nel mediterraneo degli approdi, delle maree, dei barconi. È una via che custodisce il patrimonio di memorie, gesti, segni, suoni degli uomini che questi ulivi li hanno piantati, curati, cresciuti, potati, scongiurati, benedetti. È una linea che è un mare di foglie argento che si confonde nel mare indaco, è una linea la cui vita batte nella terra rossa, nel vento e nel cunto. Cerchiamo naviganti di questa via, scrittori, narratori, attori, autori, contastorie che su questa via abbiamo la tentazione di perdersi, di naufragare e di riemergere intrecciando parole a battiti, perché questa via oggi è anche una via dei canti che esiste se la racconti, che sopravvive se la affermi. Da pochi anni un’epidemia attraversa gli ulivi di Puglia (Xylella). È una malattia che blocca la circolazione delle piante, le fa rinsecchire come per aridità. Come per ogni epidemia l’origine, i primi segni, si perdono, non saresti in grado di ricordarli o localizzarli. Poi tutto si gonfia, diventa emergenza, urlo, proteste, voci discordanti e infine pietà. In questo paesaggio di cunti e alberi desideriamo l’arte, il racconto, una parola che nutra. Nasce da qui il progetto LandXscape ed in particolare la residenza dedicata alla NARRAZIONE. Perché tutto questo non è stato ancora raccontato. Ebbene sì: non esiste un racconto di tutto questo, non un libro, non un saggio, figuriamoci un monologo o uno spettacolo teatrale. Forse perché capita che tutto diventi raccontabile solo quando diventa ricorrenza, ricordo, souvenir. E noi invece mettiamo i piedi nella materia viva, in questi ulivi, ora, mentre si lotta, si cambia, si diventa leggenda.
Sono cresciuto nella riserva naturale che ospiterà la residenza, Torre Guaceto, una lembo di terra incontaminato (questo) sul mare Adriatico. È una terra di storie, prende il nome da una sorgente antica. Qui è nato il mio lavoro di narratore della natura viva, pulsante, dei sensi. Anticamente, quando si passava da una sorgente si lasciava andare nell’acqua un pensiero perché al ritorno tutto fosse come lo si era lasciato. Non so se questo potrà mai accadere alla Puglia… mi limito a far esistere ancora il mondo con il racconto, un Altro mondo. Per questo, solo per questo, cerchiamo naviganti.
THE ROUTE OF THE SONGS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
A narrative residence on the “voice” of the Olives of Puglia
There is a “route of songs”, where the land ends and the journey begins, a line of olive trees that slides the last part of Puglia in the Mediterranean of the landings, the tides, the boats. It is a route that preserves the heritage of memories, gestures, signs, sounds of the men that have planted, cared for, grown, pruned, begged and blessed these olive trees . It ‘a line, a sea of silver leaves that is confused in the indigo sea, is a line whose life beats in the red earth, in the wind, and in the tales. We are looking for sailors of this route, writers, storytellers, actors, authors, storytellers who are tempted to get lost, to sink and re-emerge intertwining words with beats, because this route is also a route of songs that only exists if you “affirm” it. A few years ago, an epidemic disease attacked the olive trees of Puglia (Xylella). It is a disease that blocks the circulation of plants, makes them dry as for aridity. As with any epidemic, the origin, the first signs, are lost, you would not be able to remember or locate them. Then everything swells, becomes emergency, screams, protests, discordant voices and eventually pity. In this complex landscape of tales and trees, we desire art, storytelling, a word that nourishes. The project LandXscape is born here, and in particular the residence dedicated to STORYTELLING. Because all this has not yet been told. Well yes: there is no story of all this, not a book, not an assay, a monologue or a theatrical show. Perhaps, because it happens that something can be told only when it becomes recurrence, memory, souvenir. And instead we put our feet in the living matter, in these olive trees, now, while we fight, we change, we become legend.
I grew up in the naturalistic reserve that will host the residence, Torre Guaceto, a strip of pristine land on the Adriatic Sea. It is a land of stories, named after an ancient spring. There, my work as a narrator of living, pulsating nature, of the senses, was born. In ancient times, when one passed near a spring, a thought was allowed to go into the water, so that everything returned as it was, when the person came back. I do not know if this could ever happen to Puglia… I just want to make the world still existing with the storytelling, “another” world. For this reason, just for this reason, we are looking for sailors.
