BJCEM at Artissima 2017

The Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean between past, present and future

Presentation of project and activities at Artissima 2017

Saturday, November 4, 15.30
@ Meeting Point Artissima, OVAL Lingotto Fiere, Torino

In the framework of Artissima 2017, BJCEM organizes a presentation of its activities to the public in Turin, with a particular focus on the last Biennial held in Tirana and Durres from May 4 to 9. With the support of video and photographic materials, we will remember the extraordinary atmosphere lived in Tirana, with the peaceful invasion of 230 young artists in the city center, the opening of the exhibitions, the beginning of the shows and live performances and the closing in Durres at the city’s archeological museum.

A special reflection will be dedicated to the theme of the Biennale, “HOME”, proposed by the Artistic Director Driant Zeneli, divided into four subthemes: History + Conflict + Dream + Failure = Home. An important concept in a country such as Albania, characterized by an isolated past, and by an extremely fast transition. A geopolitical area where history, conflict, dream and failure constantly cross daily life.
