Practices as an Intersection in a Fragile Environment | Fabbrica del Vapore Milan

Bjcem Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, organizes the project Practices as an Intersection in a Fragile Environment  curated by Claudio Zecchi that will take place in Milan at Fabbrica del Vapore on December  1st – 2nd – 3rd.

Practices as an Intersection in a Fragile Environment, is a project by the independent curator Mr Claudio Zecchi. It is a debate and a platform of reflection in a perspective that puts the artistic practices at the center of a path that has in a fragile and precarious territory, as the one of the relationship between art and activism, the reference coordinates.
The project will be developed in three panel of discussions in which we will try to answer from different perspectives and points of view to the following questions: which is the role of art in society at large? What is the role of artists, curators and institutions? What is the relationship with the audience and finally what role the audience play?
In 2013 Claudio Zecchi was co-curator of Errors Allowed, Mediterranea 16 Young Artists Biennial (Ancona, Italy) and in 2012 he was co-curator of Disorder (BJCEM project for World Event Young Artists, Nottingham, UK). 2011-2012 he was co-curator of La Ville Ouverte a multidisciplinary project – in the Euro-Mediterranean area – made by residencies, confrontation and reflection between artists and artistic practice, on the topic of public space. (Casablanca, Viterbo, Genova); he was co-curator of several workshops in Italy and abroad (La Forma_o delle Memorie delle città, Thessaloniki (GR); Mapping the future, Milan (IT)); he has held many lectures at Università della Tuscia (Viterbo); he has curated many publications and he currently writes for the Italian magazine Arte e Critica.
